The Space Efficient Vehicle (SEV) concept was put on display at the Detroit Motor Show after it previously become a finalist in the 2008 Michelin Challenge Design.

A team from the Netherlands, who create this Space Efficient Vehicle concept are :
Ralph Panhuyzen - The project leader and vehicles inventor
Steven van der Veen - visual designer who translated the design into detailed renderings.

The main idea behind this SEV concept is to make efficient on the space inside the vehicle. Since most of vehicles normally only may carry just one person, Ralph Panhuyzen make the design of the SEV concept to reflect this fact. As you can see in the SEV concept picture, the SEV concept may give some room for 3 people in total, but I think it has little wasted space between.

There are many advantages on this lightweight and sleek Space Efficient Vehicle concept. This SEV will have better fuel economy, cheaper production on its new design options, increased maneuverability, lower emissions, and also the ability to use the existing infrastructure more efficiently.

This SEV concept offering more stable platform rather than the alternate configuration, since it was based around a three wheel platform (two at the front, and one at the rear). This SEV concept also gives the driver a more car-like driving experience.

With a vehicle guidance and lane detection system for its safety features, the driver may get helped for maintain lane position. Another features that also included is forward-located engine and active damping keep body roll, a low center of gravity which keeps the vehicle stable, lateral movement and any oversteer tendency in check. However, this SEV will providing power from a fuel efficient conventional engine that resulting 75 to 110 mpg on the range.
