Caterham R500 - Top Gear 2008 Car of the Year (COTY)



Caterham R500 wins the Top Gear 2008 Car of the Year (COTY) award, as announced at the popular BBC show. Powered by a 2.0 Ford Duratec engine, Caterham R500 may develops 263bhp and gets 0 to 60 mph acceleration time in 2.88 seconds.

Caterham R500 managed a time of 1.17.9 which is better than the Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda F and the Ferrari Enzo.

Caterham R500 was featured in the TV show December when it was put against the BMW powered Veritas RS III.

Caterham R500 was also driven by The Stig on the shows track and managed quite a respectable time taking the 5th place on their chart.

Daewoo Veritas



Daewoo Veritas will be introduced on the Korean market, as announced by General Motors. Powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 Alloytec engine, Daewoo Veritas will gets 252 PS at 6,600 rpm and 34 kg.m of torque at 2,800 rpm. The engine of Daewoo Veritas is coupled with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Daewoo Veritas is the brand’s first entry on the Korean large sedan market. A special VIP service will be given to the customers of the Daewoo Veritas which includes a five-year/100,000-kilometer warranty for the powertrain and three-year/60,000-kilometer warranty for replacement items such as engine oil, the air filter and bacteria filter.

Veritas RS III Concept Car



The Veritas RS III is a super-sports car from Germany-based Vermot AG. Veritas was founded in 1948 and went on to successfully compete in German Championship races. In 1951 Veritas became the first German team to compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Unfortunately, due to financial problems Veritas closed its doors in 1952. In 2001 the Veritas name was resurrected on the RS3 concept which first appeared as a BMW V12 powered car.
