SEAT Leon Twin Drive
SEAT Leon Twin Drive is the first electric car project from SEAT that has been presented in front of the Spanish government. Based on the Leon, SEAT Leon Twin Drive is powered by an electric motor and features modified gearbox, power braking, heating and cooling systems.
SEAT Leon Twin Drive may develops 35 kW and reach its top speed at 100 km/h with a range of 50 km. The electric motor of SEAT Leon Twin Drive is powered by lithium-ion batteries located at the rear of the vehicle.
SEAT Leon Twin Drive is the beginning of a project that stretches until 2014 with the goal of researching ‘plug-in’ hybrid propulsion. The Spanish company aims to put the first SEAT Leon Twin Drive on the market the same year.
