Nissan Introduce Carbon Offset Campaign



Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has became the first car manufacturer which introduce its customers with a Carbon Offset Campaign. With this Nissan Carbon Offset Campaign, for every March Collet sold, the Japanese automaker pledges one ton of carbon credits under Carbon Offset Japan.

One ton of carbon credits is equivalent to the amount of CO2 emitted from 8,000 km of driving calculated at 122g per 1km. Carbon Offset Japan is a non-profit organization abiding by the principals of the Kyoto Protocol, signed in December 1997, which sets greenhouse gas emission reduction obligations, including CO2.
