Proton announced its plans for entering the Indian market with their Proton cars. The Savvy, the Saga and the Persona Proton is the three models that planned to be marketed in India.
All of three Proton models are currently undergoing testing to see how they cope with Indian traffic conditions. However, With its hope to start selling cars in India as early as 2009, Proton announced that it has started negotiations with a local partner for manufacturing and marketing purposes.

The new 2008 Proton Persona for the Australian market has been launched. The 2008 Proton Persona shares only its name with the previous version, the 2008 model being based on the GEN.2 platform.
Powered by an improved version of the Campro 1.6 liter twin cam engine, The 2008 Proton Persona develops 82 kW at 6000 rpm and 148 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

The Proton GEN-2 Persona can has been introduced by Proton as a new model in UK. The Proton GEN-2 Persona is the saloon version of the five door hatchback. Powered by a 1.6 liter Lotus engineered Campro engine, the Proton GEN-2 Persona may develops 110 bhp and 148 Nm of torque. And the top speed for the Proton GEN-2 Persona is 118 mph.
The price for Proton GEN-2 Persona will starts at £10,795 for the manual transmission version and £11,595 for the automatic version. However, the new model will hit showrooms at the end of the month.
