Mazda Kaan - LA Auto Show 2008 Design Challenge Winner

Mazda Kaan has been announced as the LA Design Challenge Winner at LA Auto Show this year. With an unique design, this electric race car features a patented electronic tire system to reach 250 mph with zero emissions.

Mazda Kaan is driven by one pilot, but it involves a new race type which features teams of up to 30 drivers.

With the theme Motor Sports 2025, the LA Design Challenge this year involved designers from nine of Southern California’s automotive design studios.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe on Korean Market

Hyundai has launched the Hyundai Genesis Coupe on the Korean market. Powered by the new Lambda V6 RS engine, Hyundai Genesis Coupe may develops of 303PS at 6300rpm (306 hp for the U.S. market) and 36.8 kg/m of torque at 4700rpm. Hyundai Genesis Coupe gets a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of under 6.5 seconds.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe’s new engine is equipped with Dual CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) on both the intake and exhaust valves and a revised intake system.

Mitsubishi Racing Lancer D iD

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and the Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart team announced today that the Mitsubishi Racing Lancer D-iD will have its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show 2008. Four Mitsubishi Racing Lancer D-iD racers will be entered in the 2009 Dakar rally season.

The Mitsubishi Racing Lancer D-iD packs a 3-litre V6 diesel engine that’s good for 66.3kgfm (650Nm) of maximum torque and 280PS (206kW). The engine of the Mitsubishi Racing Lancer D-iD is coupled with a five-speed sequential gearbox and a permanent four-wheel drive transmission that features the same self-locking differential used in the Pajero/Montero Evolution.
