Desogen to Cure Acne

It is widely known that the contraceptive pill is often prescribed for the treatment of women’s acne and was approved by the FDA in 1997 for this treatment of this condition. However, if you are considering asking your doctor for the popular brand, Desogen , there are some facts you should know, especially if you have certain health problems or inherited medical conditions.

What exactly is Desogen and How does Desogen work in my body?
Desogen is an oral birth control pill that contains a combination of synthetic female hormones to stop an egg being released from a woman’s ovary. If an egg is not released, it cannot be fertilized by a male sperm- so the woman cannot become pregnant. Most women take Desogen to prevent them from falling pregnant but others have found it to be extremely effective for clearing up their acne or significantly reducing breakouts.
Desogen does this by controlling the level of androgen (a male hormone) connected with the production of oil in our skin (from our sebaceous glands). Why is the amount of oil produced by our sebaceous glands important?

Why does acne occur and what does it look like?
On the surface of our skin are little ‘breathing holes’ or pores and ‘pockets’ (follicles) out of which each hair grows. The sebaceous gland in each follicle produces oil or sebum. When too much sebum is produced, these glands become blocked and inflamed which results in pimples, ‘zits’ and blackheads - a chronic outbreak is known medically as acne. In acute cases, these pustules can result in cysts or abscesses that become infected and scar the skin’s surface. If the production of sebum can be decreased then the acne is usually reduced also.

Since the hormone, androgen, controls the release of sebum, it is not surprising that if there is an imbalance in hormone levels, especially during adolescence, then there is going to be an imbalance in the level of sebum produced. Even though contraceptive pills work effectively on acne treatment, they are not ideal for teenagers to take if they are not sexually active (unless they have had a thorough talk to their doctor first).

Desogen and acne is a ‘balancing act’.
Since Desogen affects the level of the androgen hormone within a woman’s body, it follows that every woman’s body will be operating on varying levels of hormone production so, to some degree, it is trial and error with a contraceptive medication such as Desogen for controlling the level of sebum produced and therefore controlling the severity of her acne. It is for this reason that Desogen can be extremely effective or in some cases, just not be compatible with the level of androgen being produced in certain women so their acne seems to get worse. Ethinyl etradiol is the synthetic estrogen in contraceptive pills that affects the level of androgen.

The contraceptive pill Desogen resolves acne conditions in many women
Doctors prescribe Desogen specifically for the treatment of acne in woman they consider suitable for this combination of synthetic hormones. Woman who can take Desogen will find that this birth control pill balances their hormones effectively and is the ideal drug for helping them to manage their acne. It should be noted though, that no single treatment for acne, including Desogen, should be relied upon to treat this severe skin condition. A dirty skin, make up and bacteria also aggravate acne so topical products, such as lotions, creams and anti bacterial skin cleansers should be considered for use in conjunction with Desogen.

Always consult your doctor if you wish to try Desogen for your acne treatment and tell him which other medications/topical products you are also using.

As with many medications, however, some women find they do experience various side effects when taking Desogen.
Some common side effects include nausea, headaches, slight bleeding, weight gain and possible mood changes.
After taking Desogen for three months, many of these effects disappear but you should monitor your body closely and consider a different treatment if they persist or if they worsen.

The clearly documented risks associated with all contraceptive pills must be noted for Desogen also, whether taken for acne or as your preferred birth control method. These risks include stroke, blood clotting and breast cancer (although the contraceptive pill has positive benefits in reducing ovarian and uterine cancer)

Smoking is bad for you anyway but the risks of developing heart disease increase if you are on the ‘pill’.

If you do take Desogen to prevent acne, take it as prescribed by your doctor - even if you buy it on line

Missing a dose of Desogen will not have such a bad effect on your acne but it will affect your risk of getting pregnant.
Check the leaflet that comes with the Desogen pack if you miss a pill and of course, if you are unsure as to whether you can two pills on one day, check with your doctor or medical practitioner. To reduce the anxiety or stress further, it would be wise to use additional contraception at this time.

Desogen is ideal for reducing the painful and embarrassing condition of acne in many women but unfortunately it is just not suitable for a certain percentage of woman. It is probably worth trying though as the benefits can be excellent and it is likely that if you keep in contact with your doctor you will eventually find a combination of the ‘pill’ and a topical skin product that will help you through your acne ‘chapter’.

Hair Loss And Hair Regrowth Formula

Throughout the years, hair loss has been quite an issue for men. Some will try everything in order to get their hair back. In fact, some even get wigs just to cover their balding spot. Today, science has found a way for men to effectively grow their hair back.

First of all, you may want to understand what causes hair loss in order for you to know what kind of hair regrowth products to purchase. In the past, hair loss has been linked to aging. Although this is true, you have to consider that there are younger males who suffer from hair loss as well. Although it isn’t a life threatening condition, hair loss can be quite embarrassing for most men as it will make them look older.

Studies have found that hair loss is mainly caused by genetic factors and hormonal changes. So, if your father suffers from hair loss, it is very likely that you too will suffer from the same condition. You also have to remember that taking hormonal drugs as well as aging can alter your hormone levels, which means that it can also cause hair loss. It has been found that the hormonal byproduct called DHT can eventually cause hair loss. This means that the more DHT gets inside your body, the thinner the hair follicles will get up until it gets wasted permanently.

Although DHT is required in the male’s body in order for your body to develop early in life, recent studies have found that as men get older, the amount of DHT will increase. What this means is that as you grow older, you will be more prone to hair loss.

In order to stop hair loss, you will want to get a product that can nourish the hair follicles. The hair regrowth product should be able to have an active ingredient that will be able to block DHT from getting in your body. You need to remember that in order to have a strong and sound hair, proper nutrition in your scalp should be implemented and this is how hair growth formula works.

In most hair growth formulas the active ingredient is the water soluble vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 performs a lot of function in your body which will include nourishing the scalp and the hair follicles. The more vitamin B6 you have in your body, the healthier your hair will get.

One section of vitamin B that can help in growing hair is biotin. Biotin is a natural hair food that will help in nourishing your scalp and hair as well as your nails.

Another essential mineral that you should get is Magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral that will be able to promote hair expansion. It plays a crucial role in protein synthesis and energy metabolism.

Zinc is also essential in order for you to have a sound and strong hair. With Zinc, you will see that it will be able to nourish your scalp and promote hair growth.

So, now that you know what are the essential nutrients in order for you to grow your hair back, you will know what foods you need to eat and also what hair regrowth products you need to purchase. With this knowledge, you will be able to help in regrowing your hair more effectively and in a much shorter time.

Hair Loss Remedies

There are those who claim they can reverse balding with natural hair loss remedies, and there are prescription medications designed to act as hair loss remedies. There are markets for both natural and prescription hair loss remedies, and the proponents of either have reasons for their enthusiasm.

Rogiane and Propecia
Rogaine and other well-known hair loss remedies contain minoxidil, which is the only FDA-approved over-the-counter treatment for baldness. Other than minoxidil, only finasteride, marketed as Propecia, is approved as a treatment for hair loss, and it was not originally developed for that purpose.

Finasteride was originally developed as a treatment for prostate problems; because it inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone, it may also prove useful in preventing hair loss. Unlike Rogaine, which is applied directly to the scalp, Propecia must be taken orally in pill for, and has been proven to cause birth defects so is not appropriate as one of the hair loss remedies for women.

The choice of hair loss remedies is largely dependent on the underlying cause of baldness. Genetically transmitted male pattern baldness, in spite of it name, affects both males and females, and can range from a small thinning of hair at the top of the scalp to the complete loss of all bodily hair. Estimates are that male pattern baldness affects almost two in five men, so hair loss remedies will continue to be in demand for a very long time.

The hormone dihydrotestosterone is thought to be the major underlying factor in male pattern baldness; minoxidil and finasteride both decrease the amount of dihydrotestoterone produced from the body’s testosterone. Because of their inhibiting effects, including minoxidil and finasteride in hair loss remedies seems like a logical step, but Rogaine has not proven effective in all users. Some have seen a complete return of their lost hair; others have seen light new growth, and others have not had any regrowth at all.

Other Causes Of Hair Loss
Hair loss can be the result of things other than hormonal imbalances; scalp infections, allergic reactions, and hair treatments which use harsh chemicals or require the hair to be pulled tight enough to interfere with the scalp’s circulation are also suspect.

In those cases, the hair loss will probably be short-term, and the hair will begin to grow back as soon as the conditions causing it are removed. If you have hair loss and think a past disease, allergy, or hair treatment might be responsible, talk to a physician before exploring any hair loss remedies on your own.

To add some to the list are scalp contagions, hypersensitive reactions, use of coarse chemicals for the purpose of hair treatment and treatment which affects the circulation of the scalp. These causes will result in a short period hair loss. These causes can be treated easily and hair growth starts again as soon as the causation ends. If you are feeling that your hair loss problem is one of these causes, then before choosing the remedy you need to confer with a medico. It’s better as some of the drugs you are choosing may not be solving your root problem and a medico can really help you in this respect.
