If you struggle with acne, it may be time to select an acne treatment regimen to improve your skin. But there are so many different types of acne products on the market - how will you select the best ones? Relax. In this article, we’ve done all the hard work for you and picked out the best acne products for your skin care regimen.
First, you will need to pick out a basic cleanser. Regular soap will not do! Any cleanser that is marketed as non-comedogenic (non-irritating) will work for your skin. Use your cleanser at least twice a day - in the morning and at night. Also make sure to clean your skin before and after applying any cosmetic products to keep your skin as irritation free as possible.
Subsequently, one will require a basic moisturizing agent. Choose a moisturizer which is especially designed for individuals affected by acne. Ensure that it is non-comedogenic and that it is appropriate for one’s particular skin type, as well. Skin types vary. They can be classified as “normal”, “oily”, “dry”, or “combination”. Surprisingly, people affected by acne may have skin that is dry! It will be necessary to use moisturizer following each application of cleanser.
You will also require acne serum. There is a concentrated formula in serum with proper medications for the treatment of your skin - free from any other substances likely to irritate or unbalance your skin. Your serum can have salicylic acid - a special chemical for the treatment of your skin for acne causing bacteria or fungi.
Of utmost importance is a daily sunscreen. Lack of regular use of a sunscreen can not only expose your skin to potential skin cancer-causing agents, but can also make acne worse! The sun is a leading irritant to skin, and so you should choose a sunscreen with an SPF rating appropriate for your skin color. People with lighter skin tones should use a higher-valued SPF. Be sure whatever sunscreen you use that it contains no irritants or oils.
Finally, you should add an anti-redness cream or serum to your acne treatment regimen. There are several types of these on the market. Choose one that is designed for your skin type.
