How to Avoiding Robbery?

Outsmart the Burglars
With the increasing number of theft, its prevention has become an important need to be looked into. Often times, burglary happens during the day time when everyone is at work or school as they can get away without being caught. Their interests lie in the small expensive things that can fetch them a big amount of money. Doors and windows are easy break-ins for them. Some even break into the tenant’s property.

Methods Burglars Use
It is a common knowledge that the back door and the garage doors are easy entries. Hence, these have become the usual means they enter from. Burglars have wittingly found more ways of using a credit card, pliers and screwdrivers. Through these instruments, they break in through the doors.
There are those who kick in the door. Since they are used to it, getting inside is no longer a big problem for them. As sliding doors are left open for the pet to access, these can be opened easily owing to the improper latching due to a significant amount of use. Burglars would somehow get in by using any means.

Useful Tips
A wood or a metal block will be of great use to block the door from being pried open. Whenever you leave your house, adjust your door rollers and see to it that it’s in good condition. You may also install a pin, which could extend through both the sliding and the fixed portion of the door. This may make it difficult for the burglar to lift the door out of frame.
We often keep our windows open when we set out of homes. This makes it very convenient for the robber to break in. you can install screws into the upper track of the movable glass panel from being lifted out of the frame. First floor windows are easier routes. Remember to do the needful before you leave your home.
The practice of leaving an extra key outside for the benefit of those members of the family arriving home early may not be a great idea anymore. The burglars are well aware of this. They would look around for the spare key before they try anything else. It is more advisable to leave the keys with a neighbor.

Proper Lighting
Good lighting at home can prevent many misfortunes. Maintain timers that turn on the lights and music in an apartment every night. Light always give a sense of safety. Make sure that your lighting allows you to read numbers and walk without stumbling from your car to an apartment.
Remove parking tags and they should never give a clue of where the tenant lives. It is not advisable to number parking lot spaces by unit number as the burglar may come to know if the tenant is home or not.

However, as there is so much crime of theft going on, it is hard to find a perfect solution to the problem. In the end, it all depends on the tenant; on how much prevention he or she has taken to keep burglars away.
