Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss Concept Car

Mercedes has released the complete details and images of Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss Concept. Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss is a SLR super sports car with a new, uncompromisingly spectacular car that will makes its world debut in Detroit in January.

Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss comes with a 478 kW/650 hp supercharged V8 engine under its bonnet that enable the car to gets 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss will reach its top speed at 350 km/h (217 mph) without any wind screen attached on the car.

Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss features a carbon fiber body, closed underbody, and a rear diffuser for maximum downforce on the rear axle. This car also equipped with an AIRBRAKE which can be manually deployed during braking at speeds over 120 km/h (75 mph).

With only 75 units will be built, Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss price will starts at 750,000 Euros and the production for this Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss is expected begin in June 2009.

2008 Alfa Romeo BAT 11

After more than 50 years, there is a new BAT model. The new BAT 11, based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, shares many styling cues with the classic BAT cars of the 50s. Based on a modified Alfa Romeo 8C platform, the BAT 11 continues some of the distinguishing elements of the original ‘Berlinetta Aerodynamica Tecnica’ cars designed by Franco Scaglione and developed by Nuccio Bertone.

These include the tapered fins and faired wheels, all in a context where soft propositions are combined with strong, robust lines. The monolithic form has a simple dihedral bodyside section with fins that seem to have been designed as a shawl that wraps around the car beginning from the front fender and extending to the top of the side windows toward the rear.

The front end is strongly tapered to a V-shape with a neat Alfa Romeo shield low down in the lean-forward nose. The V-shaped form continues into the wraparound windshield and continues at the rear, with a center fin butting up to the tapering rear window and a pair of open air extraction slots behind the rear wheels.

Goodwood Earls Court Motor Show

The recreation of the classic London Motor Show that was held after the War at Earls Court has been announced by Goodwood.

The Goodwood Earls Court Motor Show will give visitors an insight into how motoring of the future might look from a pre-1966 perspective, with a display of “futuristic” 21st century cars. Each stand of the Goodwood Earls Court Motor Show will be styled like one of the shows from of the 1950s or 1960s.

The Goodwood Earls Court Motor Show also featuring a concours d’elegance organized in collaboration with BGC that will commemorate “the Fastest Car in the World”, featuring around 25 performance cars from the 1920s, right through to the present day.
